Pawprints in the snow, piter pater across my roof at nightfall
The pinched nerve in my neck is annoying, the running across my roof at night is more annoying and the fact that I'm blogging about this is the most annoying. The past few nights have been a bit restless. Something like blinking in super super slow-motion...with one eye shut. "Thud" "Bang" "Boom" "Pow" (yea I brought out the batman dialogue bubbles) every 15 minutes or so wakes you from that point of dozing off and reaching that deep R.E.M. sleep state. Then a "thud" sound - now eyes wide open. Besides the heater kicking in you can hear whatever it is on my roof darting back and forth like Carl Lewis vs Ben Johnson. By now it's about midnight, the glistening moonlight bouncing off the fresh pow makes for a one bright snowy white. It's cold outside, maybe 10 degrees. Warm and comfortable on my tempur-pedic I begin to ask, do I get on my snowpants, jacket, gloves, and a Mag flashlight to hopefully catch a glimpse of what may be the greatest track race on a snowpacked pitched roof? Front row tickets to this event and all I need to do is dig out the ladder, brush the snow off and wish for a vendor selling hot chocolate. For some reason these thoughts are somewhat appealing.
Another 10 minutes or so goes by. It's quiet - then my eyes snap open! Heater just kicked in. Crap! Now every noise settling creak of the house has amplified to a new level without the need for whisper 2000. Still laying in bed waiting for the next event and sure enough Bang, they're off! One end to the other but this time something different happened. "Thud" twice! From the outside of my bedroom wall! hmmm now that's interesting! I kinda chuckle hoping either Carl or Ben just caught an edge from the snowpack sending em flying off the roof. HaHa! My patience pays off and after a 3-4 day track race I celebrate with a couple of Tiger Woods fist pumps!
Question: What kind of critter or critters do you think were running across my roof?
I will be checking out the roof during the day and check for properly constructed safety berms :) 7lmb4w0 nfvptpn | fpkrhrt hjt0fjb | pxp0xlr x47r0jj | 6rb5rw0 xx7f5f0 | 6pmljw7 njm0m54 | enjoy
